40mm diameter poles are great for beginners with less developed grip strength, kids and the more petite polers out there.

Aerial silks: also known as aerial fabric or aerial tissue, is a performance art in which artists perform acrobatic movements while suspended from fabric hung in the air. The fabric is attached to a rigging point above and is used for climbing, wrapping, dynamic poses and creating routines.
Aerial silks routines showcase strength, flexibility, and artistic expression as performers gracefully navigate and manipulate the suspended fabric during their performances.
In Alice’s Aerial Silks Classes, participants learn the fundamentals of working with suspended fabric to perform acrobatic movements. The class begins with a warm-up to enhance flexibility and strength followed by conditioning that is personalised to the class. Students are then guided through step-by-step instructions on climbing, wrapping, and creating poses on the aerial silks. Safety measures and proper techniques for executing movements are emphasized. As participants progress, the class may include choreography and routines to develop a combination of strength, agility, and artistic expression. Alice will provide guidance and support to help students build confidence in navigating and mastering the aerial silks.

Silks Classes with Natasha
Natasha began her journey in aerial sports in 2009 with Pole fitness, seeking something different as a mature student. She quickly fell in love with the sport and supported her instructor by training beginners. After a brief hiatus, Natasha discovered the growing popularity of aerial sports in Lancashire and joined the Aerial Lounge in 2018.
Starting with Aerial Hoop, Natasha overcame her insecurities about weight and body confidence. She found a nurturing and safe environment that reignited her passion. This led her to explore Pole again, Aerial Silks, and later, Static Trapeze. Natasha has developed a deep love for Aerial Silks, finding it both challenging and rewarding.
Her childhood love of acrobatics and circus performances like Cirque du Soleil inspired her dedication to Silks. Despite the discipline not coming naturally to her, Natasha's commitment and the support of talented instructors transformed her practice into a graceful art form. She developed unique techniques to accommodate her curvier figure and non-traditional style, emphasizing flexibility and strength.
Recently qualified as an Aerial Silks instructor (May 2024), Natasha aims to offer a nurturing and strength-based approach to help everyone develop better strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. She especially encourages adults without a dance background to try something different, believing that anyone, regardless of size, age, or shape, can excel in this sport.
Natasha’s beginner classes will cover foundational Silks moves, both in a hitch knot and without, progressively increasing in complexity to challenge and engage students. The curriculum includes climbs, planche drops, footlock moves, and short routines, all designed to build strength, flexibility, balance, and confidence. Natasha is dedicated to spotting natural skills and helping others achieve their fitness goals. Join her and discover the joy of Aerial Silks!
